Last Time Out
The Jan. 13 match against WVU will be the first in two months for the Nanooks. They have not shot since Nov. 13 since #6 Nebraska came to Fairbanks for a two-match weekend. On Nov. 12, the Nanooks defeated the Cornhuskers 4743-4714 before grabbing another win on Nov. 13.

- Alaska currently holds the top team aggregate in NCAA rifle with a 4742.571. TCU follows in second with a 4738.715 and West Virginia is third with a 4724.714.
- Rylan Kissell is currently fourth in the individual aggregate average with an 1186.333 average. He's shooting 587.833 in smallbore and 598.5 in air rifle, the best in the nation.
- Peter Fiori follows behind with an aggregate average of 1186.143. He's shooting 592.714 in smallbore, the best in NCAA rifle, and 593.429 in air rifle.
- Kellen McAferty rounds out the string of Nanooks. He's currently sixth with an aggregate average of 1185.666 with averages of 590.333 in smallbore and 595.333 in air rifle.
- The Nanooks have not gone head-to-head with West Virginia since Jan. 21, 2018 in Fairbanks. WVU grabbed a 4719-4704 win over the 'Nooks.
- Alaska's last win over the Mountaineers came on Feb. 1, 2015 in Fairbanks, 4706-4705.
- Alaska, Kentucky and West Virginia will see each other in a group setting for the second time this season after the Nanooks traveled to Morgantown, W.V. for The Fall Classic (Alaska/TCU/UK/WVU).
- The 'Nooks took third in The Fall Classic, posting an aggregate score of 4725, their lowest aggregate of the season.
Saturday's Match
Saturday's match at TVSA will consist of Georgia Southern, Kentucky and West Virginia. GSU currently sits in 16th-place in the CRCA Top-20, Kentucky is third and West Virginia is fifth. Georgia Southern is shooting a team aggregate of 4647.143 with a season average of 2302.429 in smallbore and 2344.714 in air rifle. They are led by Addy Burrow who is averaging an aggregate score of 1180.714 this season with an average of 586.143 in smallbore and 594.571 in air rifle.
Kentucky, the reigning national champs, are shooting a team average of 4721.858 with a smallbore average of 2340.429 and an air rifle average of 2381.429. They are led by Sofia Ceccarello, who is shooting an average aggregate of 1185.167. That aggregate is made up of an average smallbore score of 587.167 and an average air rifle score of 598, the second-best in the nation behind Kissell.
Finally, West Virginia is shooting an average team aggregate score of 4724.714 with an average smallbore of 2343.714 and an air rifle average of 2381. Mary Tucker leads the Mountaineers this season with an average aggregate score of 1189.50, an average smallbore of 591.75 and air rifle average of 597.75.
Looking Ahead
Following this weekend's matches, the Nanooks will hit the road for a two-match weekend at the Air Force Academy next weekend on Saturday, Jan. 21 and Sunday, Jan. 22. That will finish the regular-season for the Nanooks as they'll return home to host the PRC Championships on Feb. 4-5 before heading to UTEP on Feb. 18 for their NCAA Qualifier. The NCAA Rifle Championships will conclude the 'Nooks season on March 10-11 in Akron, Ohio.
