FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks men's basketball program has added Terrell Peter for the upcoming 2022-23 season. Peter comes home after attending West Valley High School before playing his first two seasons of college basketball.

"Welcome home to Fairbanks, Terrell." Said head coach Greg Sparling, "A great young man on and off the court, Terrell is going to be a great addition for our Nanooks basketball program.  He had a stellar high school career down the hill at West Valley.  He is a competitor that plays hard and provides a lot of toughness. He played in a great program the last couple years under Coach Brady at Bellevue Community College who just came off an NWAC Championship appearance in 2021-2022. He contributes to winning and we look forward to him bringing that mentality to our team everyday. I know that he is excited to be home and play in front of his family for the rest of his collegiate career. We are glad he is home here in Fairbanks."

Peter, a 6'3" wing, went and played two seasons at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Wash. where he helped the Bulldogs to a 22-8, 9-5 NWAC record in 2021-22. In his first year, 2020-21, the Bulldogs went 9-6. He played in 15 games, scoring 6.5 points per game while shooting 42.7% from the floor and 75% from the free-throw line. In his second season at Bellevue, Peter played in 24 games, seeing 9.8 minutes per game. He scored 4.2 points per game while shooting 46.7% from the field. He also grabbed 2.1 rebounds while maintaining a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio.
