In the first, the Nanooks were led by Rilee White, who posted four kills on seven attempts. Alaska opened up the game with a 6-1 lead, using kills from Karli Nielson to jump ahead quickly. The Nanooks made a push back, pulling within 21-17 on a White kill, but the Red Leafs scored four of the next five points to take set one 25-18. In the second, the Nanooks held on to the lead for the first half before SFU stormed back to take the lead. The Nanooks held on to a two-point lead until SFU took an 8-6 lead. The 'Nooks responded with a four-point swing to take a 12-9 lead. They maintained the lead through the 14-13 mark before the Red Leafs reclaimed the lead at 15-14. The two sides traded leads until SFU took a 21-20 lead and never looked back.

They managed to hold off a surging Nanooks squad and took the second 25-23.
