Nordic Ski Sending Five to 2021 NCAA Skiing Championships

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team found out on Tuesday, March 2 that five of their skiers will participate at the 2021 NCAA Skiing Championships. Two men qualified, Mike Ophoff and Christopher Kalev and three women racers, Mariel Pulles, Kendall Kramer and Catherine Reed-Metayer.

73 men and 73 women were selected to participate in the 2021 NCAA Skiing Championships, to be held March 10-13 at Cannon Mountain in Franconia, N.H. and the Jackson Nordic Center in Jackson, N.H. The University of New Hampshire will be the official host.

Participants are selected on a regional basis from two designated regions for Alpine skiing (East and West) and three designated for Nordic skiing (Central, East and West). Bids are awarded to regions using a formula determined by the skiing committee. A maximum of 12 student-athletes may be selected from an institution.

Alpine events will be held Wednesday, March 10 and Friday, March 12 at Cannon Mountain. Nordic events will run Thursday, March 11 and Saturday, March 13 at Jackson Nordic Center.
