CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Alaska Nanooks moved to 5-0 on the season, posting an aggregate-score of 4736 on Sunday, Oct. 31. This comes a day after the Nanooks posted a program-record aggregate score of 4737.

Will Anti, "We're really proud of the effort they put into this trip. Their preparation leading up to those matches set them up to succeed. One of the hardest things to do is back up a great performance with another and today, the team did that."
Rylan Kissell took the top-spot in the individual finish, posting a 1194. He took the top-spot by 10 aggregate-points. Sara Karasova came in second, posting a 1184.
Kellen McAferty finished the top-three and 1180+ scoring for Alaska, posting an aggregate of 1180.
Gavin Barnick and
Daniel Enger rounded-out the top-five with scores of 1178 and 1175.
In smallbore, Kissell was the lone-shooter with a 590+ score. He finished with a 596, tying his high from earlier this season. Karasova came in second, posting a 588. McAferty also shot a 588, coming in third. Barnick was the final scorer for the Nanooks, shooting a 585.
Daniel Enger finished the top-five finishes for Alaska in smallbore, shooting a 585 as well. The Nanooks shot a 2357 team-score in the smallbore discipline.
In air, the Nanooks were led by Kissell, Karasova, Barnick and McAferty. Kissell shot his second-best round this season, posting a 598. Karasova was just behind, shooting a 596. Barnick and McAferty rounded out the air rifle scoring with a 593 and 592, respectively. In air, the Nanooks fired off a score of 2379.
"Rylan led the group with a really impressive match. He's getting really comfortable performing consistently at this level. Sara had a standout performance in air. Marina also had a season-high in smallbore – her work in that discipline is coming through more and more each match. Overall, we are thrilled with the team performance. Maintaining the level of intensity for such a long road trip is showing us that this group is a gritty road team, which is exactly what we need to be."
The Nanooks next hit the road on Nov. 13-14 with a trip to Annapolis, Maryland. They'll matchup with North Carolina State and the United State Naval Academy.
