Nanooks of the Week
Female: Mariel Pulles, Nordic Ski – Pulles qualified for the NCAA Nordic Ski Championships this season and represented her country, Estonia at the Cross Country Ski World Championship in Oberwiesenthal, Germany this weekend. 
 
Male: Roberts Kalkis, Hockey – Kalkis picked up his first two career goals in game two of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup against UAA on Saturday, Feb. 29. He was named the WCHA Defenseman of the Week this week as we enter the first round of playoffs. 
 
Men's Basketball 11-17, 10-10 GNAC

The Nanooks are in Seattle, Wash. for the 2020 GNAC Championships, hosted by Seattle Pacific University. Last week, the Nanooks fell to the Concordia Cavaliers and the Western Oregon Wolves on Thursday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 29. Despite the two losses, the Nanooks were helped by a loss by Central Washington to Seattle Pacific on the final day of the regular-season, clinching the postseason for the 'Nooks. Alaska enters the GNAC tournament as the #6 seed and will face-off with the Western Oregon Wolves again on Thursday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m. AKT.
 
Hockey 16-13-5, 14-9-5-2 WCHA
LAST: vs. UAA (W, W) | NEXT: vs. Bowling Green in QF of WCHA Playoffs
The Nanooks are hosting the WCHA Playoffs for the first time since the 2013-14 season, their first in the WCHA. We are coming off of a sweep of UAA at the Carlson Center last weekend, giving us eight official Governor's Cup wins in a row. Roberts Kalkis and Steven Jandric were both recognized for their performances this weekend, winning the WCHA Forward of the Week and Defenseman of the Week awards. With the six points from the two wins, the Nanooks will now host the Falcons of Bowling Green on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 6-7 for the first round of the WCHA postseason. Game three is TBD depending on the series record after the first two games.
