FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team was defeated, 64-41, by the Seattle Pacific University Falcons. This loss brings the team to 6-14 overall and 1-10 in conference play.

Jocelyn Gandara got the 'Nooks going early with two points right off the tip-off. From there, Seattle Pacific answered, and the two teams tied the lead back and forth until the Falcons broke away and ended the first quarter on a 6-0 run.

Seattle Pacific started the second quarter on an 11-4 run. The Nanooks responded late with a 6-0 to close out the quarter and cut the deficit to seven points, 28-21, in favor of the Falcons.

A three-pointer from
Jocelyn Gandara sparked up the Nanooks coming out of the break. The Nanooks would cut the deficit to four points before their opponents stretched their lead back to double digits. Seattle Pacific held a 10-point, 43-33, lead at the end of the third.

Alaska struggled in the fourth quarter, scoring only eight points over the entire quarter and giving up 21 points on the defensive end. The Falcons ended the game on a 14-2 run to push their lead to 23 points and end the game with a, 64-41 win.

Jocelyn Gandara added another double-double to her collection with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Behind her,
Sam Tolliver collected two rebounds to go along with her nine points.

Alaska shot 15-61 from the field, 3-17 from deep and 8-8 from the free-throw line.

The team will be home again this Saturday facing off against St. Martin's University at 1 P.M. AKST.
