SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – On Wednesday, the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association announced their 2018-19 awards for both men's and women's Nordic and Alpine skiing, with Alaska Nanooks senior Nordic skier
Kati Roivas being named to the All-RMISA women's Nordic First Team.
It is Roivas' first all-conference honor of her career and the Alaska Nanooks' first RMISA all-conference since joining the West Region in August of 2017.
Roivas led the Nanooks women's Nordic team throughout the entire 2018-19 season, placing first among her teammates in 10 of Alaska's 16 races this season, not competing in four of those six competitions.
According to the RMISA, MVPs are selected through total NCAA qualification points earned for all regular season meets, while the All-RMISA teams are selected using the final NCAA qualifying lists.
It was announced yesterday that Roivas, along with teammates
Anja Maijala, Max Donaldson and Seiji Takagi, have all qualified for the 2019 NCAA Skiing National Championships Mar. 6 and 8 at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont.
