Sharp Shooting Sends Western Washington Past @NanooksMBB

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks men's basketball team dropped a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest at home on Saturday, falling 85-75 to the Western Washington Vikings at the Alaska Airlines Court. The loss drops Alaska's overall record to 5-20 and 2-16 in conference play, while the Vikings improve 14-13 on the season and 8-9 in league play.

  • The Nooks shot 42.9 percent from the floor (27-for-63), 17.4 percent from outside (4-for-23) and 89.5 percent from the free throw line (17-for-19).
  • Alaska led in boards on the day with 39, pulling down 16 offensive and 23 defensive rebounds against the Vikings.

  • The Palmer, Alaska native also led in rebounding in Saturday's game, chipping in six offensive and 11 defensive rebounds for 17 total.
  • Senior guard Alex Baham was one of only two other Alaska player score double-digit points against the Vikings, shooting 4-for-7 from the floor, including 1-for-4 from outside and 3-for-4 from the free throw line for 12 points.
  • Senior Tre Eisenhut picked-up 10 points on Saturday, shooting 4-for-8 from the field, 1-for-4 from outside the arc and 1-for-1 from the free throw line.
  • Senior guard Isaiah Easaw led his teammates with six assists.

The Alaska Nanooks will take on the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves on the road on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Alaska Airlines Center before returning to the Alaska Airlines Court in Fairbanks to host the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets in their final home game on Saturday, Mar. 2. Tip-off on Tuesday in Anchorage is set for 7pm AKST, while Saturday in Fairbanks is slated for 3:15pm AKST.
