FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team will host a pair of Great Northwest Athletic Conference contests at home this week, taking on the Western Oregon Wolves on Thursday, Feb. 14 before taking on the Concordia Cavaliers on Saturday, Feb. 16. Both games will take place at the Alaska Airlines Court, with Thursday's tip-off set for 7pm AKST, while Saturday is slated for 1pm AKST.

Last Time Out
The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team fell in a pair of conference games last week, falling 88-43 to in-state rival Alaska Anchorage at home on Tuesday, before dropping a 84-65 decision to Montana State Billings on the road on Thursday. Alaska is currently on a 17-game losing streak.
GNAC Standings
The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team ranks 11th in the GNAC standings with a 0-14 mark in conference play. The Nanooks' upcoming opponents, Western Oregon (4-10 GNAC) and Concordia (6-8 GNAC), sit in ninth and tied for sixth place in the conference standings, respectively. Both Alaska Anchorage and Northwest Nazarene tie for first in the league standings and have already clinched a berth into the GNAC Championships.

The Nanooks trail the all-time series against the Western Oregon Wolves, 19-30. In their first meeting on Jan. 17, 1977, Alaska fell 68-65 on the road to the Wolves. The Nanooks are currently riding a three-game losing streak to the Wolves, with their last win coming as a 79-65 decision at home on Feb. 2, 2017. In their last meeting, Alaska fell 79-50 on Jan. 19 on the road.
The Alaska Nanooks are 3-6 all-time against the Concordia Cavaliers, with the first meeting between the two teams resulting in an 82-66 loss for the Nanooks at home on Feb. 4, 1983. The Nanooks are currently riding a four-game losing streak to the Cavaliers, with their last win coming on Jan. 5, 2017 (79-74) on the road. In their last meeting, Alaska fell 77-51 on the road on Jan. 17.
Scouting the Opponent – Western Oregon
Western Oregon was in action for two contests last week, falling to Western Washington on Thursday before being edged 59-57 by Simon Fraser on Saturday. Center Natalie DeLonge led the Wolves on the week, compiling 35 points and 19 rebounds across the two games. She was one of four players to finish at least one contest scoring double-digits.
Scouting the Opponent – Concordia
Concordia split its two-game homestand last week, falling by three points to Simon Fraser before topping Western Washington 60-57 on Saturday. The win against WWU moved the Cavs to 6-0 this season when holding their opponents to 60 points or less. Guard Olivia Vezaldenos leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game through 14 weeks of play. On the glass, senior Keesha Sarman tops CU with 7.6 rebounds per game.
