ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team opens their season with the Nordic Cup versus in-state rival, Alaska Anchorage.

First Time Out
This will be the first event for the Nanooks Nordic ski team as all 18 team-members prepare to compete in the events this weekend. These times will be kept for team trials for the college race circuit. Assistant coach Jennie Bender will act as head coach this weekend as head coach Eliska Albrigtsen stays home due to illness. 
 
Race Location
The Nanooks and Seawolves will do battle just northeast of Anchorage in Fishhook, Alaska at the Government Peak Rec Area. The two teams will face-off on Saturday, Dec. 7 and 8 as the women race in a 5km skate individual race on Saturday and a 10km classic race on Sunday. The men race in a 10km race on Saturday and 15km on Sunday.
