FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks volleyball team is off to the Pacific Northwest to face the Simon Fraser Clan in Burnaby, B.C. on Thursday, Nov. 14 and the Western Washington Vikings on Saturday, Nov. 16 in Bellingham, Wash.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks are coming off of a home-series sweep of the Willamette Valley schools, Concordia University out of Portland, Ore. and Western Oregon University out of Monmouth, Ore. Alaska defeated Concordia in four-sets on Thursday, Nov. 7.
AveRee Reynolds led the way for the 'Nooks with 16 kills and a .342 swing percentage.
Lahra Weber and
Makena Overbey led the way for the 'Nooks in the second game of the weekend against the Wolves of WOU as Weber put up a game-high 10 kills in the three-set sweep and Overbey dug 17 balls on the defensive end, creating opportunity for the offensive return.

The Clan
The Simon Fraser Clan have been one of the hottest teams in the GNAC as of late, as they're currently on a three-game winning streak. In the streak, they knocked off Montana State, Billings in three straight sets 3-0. They did the same thing to Saint Martin's in Lacey, Wash. defeating the Saints 3-0. Their last match was a tough, five-set victory over Seattle Pacific in Seattle. SFU is currently third in GNAC Standings at 16-8, 12-4 GNAC. They also came in as the seventh seed in the first NCAA Volleyball Regional Poll.
Western Washington
The Western Washington University Vikings are the top team in the GNAC. They are currently 21-1, 17-1 GNAC having lost to only the Seawolves of Alaska Anchorage. Since that loss, the Vikings have been riding a six-game winning streak. Knocking off Concordia, Western Oregon, Simon Fraser, MSUB, Seattle Pacific and Saint Martin's. WWU has only dropped one set in those six games. The Vikings found themselves ranked #2 in the first NCAA Volleyball Regional Poll behind only Cal State, San Bernardino who is 21-0, 18-0 CCAA.
