@NanooksXC Closes Out Regular-Season in Salem

SALEM, Ore. – The Alaska Nanooks men's and women's cross country running teams are set to compete in the Charles Bowles Invite tomorrow in Salem, Ore. Willamette University, the host school, will be holding the race at Bush's Pasture Park at 8:30 a.m. AKT.

Last Time Out
The Nanooks men's and women's cross country running teams are coming off of a bye week that followed the Sundowner Invite in Monmouth, Ore. The men ran an 8km race in Monmouth and took ninth overall place with Lukash Platil leading the way with a 25:32.9 time and 21st place finish.

The women ran to full strength while battling food poisoning. The 'Nooks finished 10th overall, led by Alexandria Bergholtz who ran a 23:20.0 in their 6km race and placed 12th.

Weather Forecast
With rain in the forecast all Friday, Oct. 4, the weather is scheduled to clear up in time for race day. The Salem forecast is calling for partially cloudy until 11:00 a.m. with expected sun the rest of the day. The rain may leave the course a little damp, but during the race, runners can expect sunshine.

What Lays Ahead
This is the final scheduled meet for the Nanooks runners before their GNAC Championships race in Billings, Montana. The GNAC Championships are Saturday, Oct. 26 and will be ran at Amend Park.
