FAIRBANKS, Alaska –The Alaska Nanooks Nordic ski team will be hosting their annual Ski Fest in the Wood Center Ballroom on Friday, Nov. 1, to bring awareness to their upcoming season, sport and celebrate it with the community.

The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. AKT until 9:30 p.m. AKT, but following the family portion of the event, things will shift over to the UAF Pub for a 21+ celebration. Doors to the UAF Wood Center will open at 6:30 p.m. AKT and at 7:00 p.m. AKT, a lasagna dinner buffet will begin for those in attendance. Alongside the lasagna, there will be salads, desserts and refreshments.

There will be various booths with ski-team athletes leading the way. Each booth will have its own Nordic skiing theme, including, ski-fitting, different wax options for your ski's and tricks to stay warm! This will help educate the fans who may be new to the sport, or those who are interested in getting involved with Nordic skiing in the near-future.

Parking will be free everywhere on campus after 5:00 p.m. and tickets at the door will be $15. Admission to those 10 and under is free and it will also be free to all Alaska Nanooks Ski Booster members.
