FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team fell in a tight Great Northwest Athletic Conference battle on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 74-59 decision to Montana State Billings at the Alaska Airlines Court. The loss drops Alaska's overall record to 4-11 and 0-14 in conference play, while the Yellowjackets improve to 16-7 on the season and 9-4 in league games.
Turning Point
After a tight game throughout the first three quarters, the Yellowjackets officially pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Nanooks 25-15. Alaska outscored MSUB 15-10 in the first, before falling 17-19 in the second and 20-12 in the third quarter.
Inside the Box Score
	- Alaska was led offensively by sophomore guard Kylie Wallace, who tallied a team-best 19 points.
 
	- The Petersburg, Alaska native shot 7-for-15 from the floor and 5-for-6 from the free throw line, while also chipping in three rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes on the court.
 
	- Junior guard Emily Evans had a day from behind the arc, shooting 4-for-9 from three-point range and 5-for-13 from the field to tally 14 points against the Yellowjackets.
 
	- Evans also led her teammates around the net, tallying  team-best eight rebounds.
 
	- Junior center Josie Sewell was the only other Alaska player to score double-digit figures on Saturday, shooting 5-for-9 from the field to tally 10 points.
 
	- As a team, the Alaska Nanooks shot 36.1 percent from the floor (22-for-61), 33.3 percent from beyond the arc (5-for-15) and 83.3 percent from the free throw line (10-for-12).
 
	- The Nooks also tallied 11 offensive and 28 defensive rebounds to total 39 boards, 16 assists, four steals and one block.
 
Next Time Out
The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team will hit the road next week for a pair of GNAC contests, as they take on the Western Oregon Wolves on Thursday, Feb. 8 in Monmouth before taking on the Concordia Cavaliers on Saturday, Feb. 10 in Portland. Both Thursday and Saturday's game is scheduled for 4:15pm AKST.
