BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A trio of Nanooks scored double-digit figures for the Alaska men's basketball team to defeat Fresno Pacific 74-58 in the final day of the Western Washington University Chuck Randall Thanksgiving Classic at the Whatcom Pavilion on Sunday afternoon. The Nanooks improve to a 4-4 record overall this season, while Fresno Pacific falls to 0-5.
"We played well on both ends of the court today, I think it's been our most complete game yet this season," head coach Mick Durham said on Sunday. "We received contributions from the whole team. We were efficient offensively when we needed to be and then played well defensively. We were in control of the game from the start, which is a great feeling from a coaching standpoint."
Fresno held, at-most, a two point lead over the Nanooks, however, the lead only lasted for 29 seconds before the Nanooks overcame FPU and never looked back. The Nooks shot 43.4 percent from the field (23-of-53), while also shooting 26.1 percent from behind the arc (6-of-23) and 81.5 percent from behind the free throw line (22-of-27).
