FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Athletics, through an existing partnership with SideArm Sports and a new partnership with Advanced Online, is pleased to announce the launch of a brand-new website and online store. Fans can continue to find the athletics website at alaskananooks.com and are invited to check out the new online store at shopnanooks.com.
"We're excited to re-launch our very popular Alaska Nanooks website, a great source of information for our entire athletics program and each person involved within it," Alaska Director of Athletics Dr. Gary Gray said on Wednesday morning. "We look forward to receiving your feedback so that we can continue to learn how we can communicate all of our exciting news and information to our supporters."
The new alaskananooks.com offers an inviting layout and cleaner design to enhance the fan experience for easier online navigation. The redesigned website showcases larger, high-quality photos to go with the main story, an emphasis on social media and easier access to the team's schedules, rosters and news archives.
Alaskananooks.com is the official source of information for Alaska's 10 intercollegiate sports with news, bios, schedules, history, statistics and social media feeds.
The new online store, shopnanooks.com, features more than 1,000 products from t-shirts to jewelry to jerseys, all customizable with the Alaska Nanooks logo.
"We hope our fans and many friends around the country are as excited as we are about our new Alaska Nanooks apparel website through Advanced Online," Gray said of the new online store. "We hope friends of the program enjoy the thousands of selection options that will make it easy for them to purchase and wear the blue and gold of the Alaska Nanooks. It's great to continue to find new ways to get our proud A-Bear out there in the public. We hope you will wear it as proudly as we do."
Nanook fans, alumni, parents and students will now be able to purchase gold gear, drinkware, and apparel from different brands including Nike, Under Armor, Columbia and Addidas.
A portion of the proceeds from the sales at shopnanooks.com will benefit the athletic department and its student-athletes. Throughout the year, shopnanooks.com will run a variety of promotions and discounts on select Alaska Nanooks merchandise.
