@NanooksWBB Looks for First Win in Billings in 24 Years on Thursday

BILLINGS, Mont. -- The Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team opens a three-game road trip this Thursday, as they seek their first win at Montana State Billings since the 1991-92 season. Tip-off from the Alterowitz Gymnasium is set for 5 p.m. AKT.

Not only are the Nooks looking for their first win in Billings on this road trip, but they are still seeking their first Great Northwest Athletic Conference win away from the Alaska Airlines Court, as they Nooks are 0-5 in conference road games. Alaska is seventh in the GNAC standings with a 4-7 mark through 11 games. Overall, the Nanooks are 9-12 on the year.

For Montana State Billings, the Yellowjackets stand a half game behind No. 2-ranked Alaska Anchorage. MSUB is 9-1 through the first half of the GNAC season. Montana State Billings has won seven-straight games, which has pushed their overall season record to 13-5.

Last Time Out
Junior Jordan Wilson scored a game-high 20 points, but the Alaska Nanooks women's basketball team had its four-game home winning streak come to an end, as No. 2-ranked Alaska Anchorage defeated the Nooks, 82-56, in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night.

All-Time Series
Montana State Billings holds a decisive 50-12 advantage in the all-time series. The Nanooks have only two wins all-time in Billings, with the last coming on Feb. 25, 1992.

Extended Scoring Streak
Junior Jordan Wilson has been on one of the most prolific scoring streaks in the GNAC this season, as she has scored double-digits in 19-straight games entering Tuesday. Wilson has recorded double-digit points in all but one game this season. Her current streak started back on Nov. 18 at BYU Hawai'i. Wilson's streak is the longest active streak in the GNAC.

Tough Week
The scheduling has not been in the Nanooks favor this week, as they face the top two teams in the GNAC back-to-back. On Tuesday, the Nooks battled top-seeded Alaska Anchorage, and followed that up with a quick trip to Montana State Billings, who is just a half game behind the Seawolves, on Thursday.

Freshman Development
Center Marian Wamsley had her most impressive outing in a Nanook uniform on Tuesday. The Valdez, Alaska native scored a career-high nine points and tied for the team lead in rebounds with seven. The post player also played a career-best 19 minutes against the No. 2 Seawolves.

Scouting the Opposition – Montana State Billings
The Yellowjackets have won seven-straight contest coming into Thursday's GNAC matchup against the Nooks. MSUB began the winning streak against Alaska, as they defeated the Nanooks, 59-55, back on Jan. 2, 2016. The streak has improved the Yellowjackets to 13-5 overall, and 9-1 in the GNAC.

MSUB is averaging 63 points per game, which ranks seventh in the conference, and shoots 38.0 percent from the floor. Alisha Breen is the team's top scorer, as she is averaging 17.4 points per game, which ranks third in the conference.

Defensively, Montana State Billings is giving up 59.7 points per game and is holding teams to a 40.1 percent from the floor.
