Campbell Signs ECHL Contract with the Norfolk Admirals

NORFOLK, Va. -- On Tuesday, the Norfolk Admirals of the East Coast Hockey League announced the signing of former Alaska Nanooks defenseman Trevor Campbell to a one-year standard contract.

Campbell was a four-year member of the UAF hockey program and appeared in 129 games during his tenure. The Kansas City, Missouri native collected 50 points from the blue line in his career, as he scored nine goals and handed out 41 assists. Campbell also excelled in the classroom at UAF, as he was a two-time member of the All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association Academic Team.

This past season, Campbell appeared in 34 games for the Nanooks and tallied 15 points with 3 goals, 12 assists. The 12 helpers tied him for third-best on the team with Garrick Perry, who will also be playing in the ECHL this upcoming season with the Cincinnati Cyclones. The defenseman helped Alaska collect six shutouts this past season and was third on the team in blocks with 42.

At the conclusion of last season, Campbell signed his first professional contract with the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League. The defenseman appeared in 11 games and handed out a pair of assists for the AHL team.

Campbell is the fourth former Nanook to make his way on the transaction page of the ECHL this past week. Perry and Michael Quinn each received a qualifying offer from the Cincinnati Cyclones, while Colton Beck was giving a qualifying off from the Idaho Steelheads.
