BURNABY, B.C. – The Nanooks trailed throughout the game, as they lost their sixth straight game in a 79-71 defeat to Simon Fraser in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest Thursday night.

With the loss, Alaska slips to 5-13 overall and 2-8 in the conference while the Clan improves to 8-10 overall and 3-7 in the GNAC.

Alex Duncan led a quartet of Alaskans in double figures, as he had a team-high 15 points through a 5-of-8 shooting night and a perfect night at the free-throw line (4-of-4). Duncan also had six rebounds, two assists and a team-high two steals.

Anthony Reese continued his strong play on the road this season, as for the third straight game away from the Patty Center, the senior scored in double digits. Reese had 14 points and led the team with 10 rebounds.

Eric Fongue and Isaac Ladines each scored in double digits as well, as they contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Simon Fraser was led by Sango Niang who had 23 points on five 3-point field goals. Three others scored in double-figures for the Clan.

The Nanooks trailed 45-33 at halftime, but made a run midway through the second half to cut the Simon Fraser lead to just two points. However, the Clan, whose fast-paced offense was held to just 38.3% shooting by Alaska's defense, never faltered enough to allow Alaska fully back into the game.

Alaska will look to snap its losing streak against Western Washington on Saturday. That game will tip-off at 6:00 p.m. in Bellingham, Washington.
