FAIRBANKS – The Alaska Nanook volleyball program begins its 2014 season this Saturday with a pair of events at the Patty Center. At 3 p.m., the current Nanooks will battle the Nanook Alumni team in a five-set exhibition match. The match will immediately be followed by the third annual Spike Fest.
Spike Fest and its corresponding dinner is complimentary for active Spike Club members. The cost for any non-Spike Club members seeking to participate in Spike Fest is $15 for adults and $10 for youth ages 12 and under. Admission to the Alumni Match is free of charge.

All city league and sand volleyball league players are invited to attend as representatives from the Fairbanks Volleyball Association and the summer sand volleyball league will recognize the 2014 (Spring and
Summer) league and tournament winners at the event.
Following the conclusion of the Alumni Match, Spike Fest will begin. The event includes a barbeque chicken and brisket dinner, door prizes and a chance to meet and socialize with the 2014 Nanooks, coaches and supporters.
The grand prize for the event will be the "UAF vs. UAA Civil War Package." Included in this package are two roundtrip tickets, provided by Ravn Alaska, to Anchorage on October 11 for a chance to see the Nanooks take on the Seawolves.
