Wilson's Career Day Not Enough for Nanooks Versus Montana State Billings

BILLINGS, Mont. – Despite 28 points from Jordan Wilson, the Nanooks fell to Montana State Billings, 71-61, to close out the Great Northwest Athletic Conference opening weekend on Saturday night.

Wilson matched her career high single-game point total, as she scored 28 points earlier this season against Dixie State. The forward also had five rebounds and two assists.

Alaska (6-4, 0-2 GNAC) is now idle until Dec. 19 and 20 when it travels to Anchorage to take on Pacific and Texas A&M-Kingsville as part of the AT&T Classic.

Montana State Billings (6-3, 1-1 GNAC), who never trailed throughout the game, was led by Annie DePuydt and Alisha Breen, who each contributed 13 points. Kayleen Goggins and Quinn Peoples each had 12 points, just behind the two top-scorers. 

Defense continues to be a strong suit for the Nanooks, as they forced 22 turnovers and eight steals, led by Kelly Logue who had three. 24 of Alaska's 61 points came off of the 22 forced turnovers. Logue also had five blocks and two assists to go with her three steals.
