Box Score BELMONT, Calif. – Ashton Edwards scored 24 points to lead the Alaska Nanook men's basketball team to a 78-68 triumph over Notre Dame De Namur on Friday night.
Edwards hit six three-pointers and also contributed three assists and a pair of rebounds, while Ruben Silvas and Adam Griffin each added ten points for the Nanooks.
Kyle Tomlinson and Isaac Ladines grabbed a joint team-high seven rebounds for the Nanooks. The game was, statistically, very even as Notre Dame de Namur edged Alaska 37-36 in rebounds with both teams scoring 20 points in the paint. The Nanooks forced 12 turnovers to their own eight, but overwhelemed Notre Dame de Namur with 23 points off the bench, compared to just eight for Notre Dame de Namur.
The Nanooks close out the Notre Dame de Namur Tournament with a 4:00 p.m. showdown with Holy Names at the Walter Gleason Gymnasium.
