No. 3 Alaska Rifle Falls to TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 3 Alaska rifle team lost for the first time this season as it fell, 4670-4663, to No. 6 Texas Christian University (TCU) on Sunday at the TCU Rifle Range.

The Nanooks were led by Soren Butler and Luke Johnson in the smallbore competition as they shot 583 and 581, respectively. Mats Eriksson contributed 577 points while
Lorelie Stanfield rounded out the scoring with a 574.

Ariana Grabowski led the Horned Frogs after shooting 583.

In the air rifle portion, Sagen Maddalena was the top shooter for Alaska with a score of 597. Butler added 588 points while Eriksson (583) and Kasey Barnes (580) also scored for the Nanooks.

For TCU Mindy Miles was the top air rifle shooter with 597 points.

Alaska is now idle until it hosts Kentucky on November 21 at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range.
