The Alaska men's basketball had one of the best turnarounds in all of college basketball this past season after more than tripling its win total from a year ago.
Alaska finished 16-12 overall and was fourth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings at 10-8. The Nanooks, led by second-year head coach
Mick Durham, advanced to the GNAC Championship semifinals and notched a post-season win for the first time in eight years.

Oct. 23 – Selected eighth in GNAC preseason poll,
