Box Score HONOLULU — The Alaska women's basketball team continued its hot start to the season and moved to 3-0 for the first time since 2003-04 Sunday with another double-digit victory, winning its second game on its current Hawaii road trip with a 76-60 victory at Chaminade.

Junior guard
Benissa Bulaya (Sacramento, Calif./Communications) led the way with 15 points for the Nanooks (3-0), whose average margin of victory in the season's first three games has been over 20 points. Freshman forward
Jordan Wilson (Henderson, Colo./Business Administration) chipped in 13 and sophomore guard
Brianna Kirk (Noatak, Alaska/General Studies) scored 11.

All 12 players that saw time on the floor for the Nanooks scored at least two points, and 11 had at least two rebounds in another dominating performance for the team. Alaska outshot Chaminade (0-1) 40.3 to 35.9 percent and won the rebounding battle 53-40.

Glacen Florita tallied 13 points for the Silverswords (0-1). Lilia Maio had 10 and Kristie Henry and Carissa McBride both scored nine apiece.

A number of big runs allowed Alaska to go ahead and stay ahead Sunday. After a 4-4 tie 90 seconds into the game, the Nanooks went on a 21-1 run to go up 25-5. The Nanooks would push that lead to as much as 25 points before settling for a 24-point halftime advantage at 47-23.

Chaminade shot just 22.2 percent in the first half and lost the battle in the paint. Alaska owned the key all afternoon, outscoring the Silverswords 28-4 in the first half and 48-16 in the game.

The second half was a different story for the Silverswords, who shot 45.9 percent and cut the Nanooks' lead to 18 with 7 minutes, 24 seconds to play on a 9-2 run. But the large deficit was too much to overcome. Alaska led by as much as 26 in the second and got 15 points from the bench to help seal the victory.

Alaska next travels to the Big Island for two games Monday and Tuesday to wrap up its Hawaii road trip against Hawaii-Hilo. Monday's game begins at 6 p.m. AKST, and Tuesday's affair tips off at 5 p.m.
