KALAMAZOO, Mich - The Alaska Nanooks' hockey team rebounded from Friday night's narrow 2-1 let down at Western Michigan by minimizing their penalties and getting goals from four different skaters to earn a 4-1 victory over the #16 Broncos and a series split on Saturday night at Lawson Arena. The Broncos' Mike Leone managed to spoil Greenham's shutout bid with just 25 seconds left in the game.
Alaska went 1-for-5 on the power-play and held their hosts scoreless in three opportunities of their own.
The 10th-place Nanooks return to host the seventh-place Lake Superior State Lakers next Friday and Saturday at the Carlson Center. It is their final regular-season league home series and the teams will face off at 7:05 p.m. both nights.
