FAIRBANKS, Alaska -
Cody Kunyk tallied two goals and Alaska produced a pair of short-handed scores en route to a 6-0 exhibition victory against Regina on Friday night at the Carlson Center.
Colton Beck led all players with three points as he had one goal and two assists while the Nanooks also saw goals from
Nik Yaremchuk,
Josh Atkinson and
Michael Quinn. Additionally,
Matthew Friese and
Nolan Huysmans tied Beck with a game-high two assists.
The Nanooks had plenty of opportunities, outshooting the Cougars 48-22 on goal.
Sean Cahill led Alaska with 13 saves, while his teammate,
John Keeney, accounting for eight stops in goal.
Regina's goaltending duo of Mitch Kilgore and Lucas Gore combined for 42 saves, with Kilgore leading all players with 22 saves.
