Nanooks Lose at SPU

Parrish West scored 21 total points, bringing him to 542 this season, but it wasn't enough to lift the Nanooks (7-12, 4-8 GNAC) above Seattle Pacific (16-5, 10-3 GNAC). They lost 87-74 in Seattle.

The Nanooks followed their usual modus operandi throughout the game—feeding the ball to West. The problem with the plan was West wasn't making baskets. He shot an uncharacteristic 6-for-25 from the field.

West was distributing the ball when he could. He led the team with six assists on the night, which marks a new season high for him.

By contrast, Brett Barkman shot 5-for-9, scoring 12 total points. Jarrett Miller was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. He entered the game with a team-best .941 percentage from the stripe.

Alaska never got a grasp of the game. They were down by double-digits as early as 16:48 after a 12-2 opening run by the Falcons.

They trailed by 17 three separate times in the second half.

Alaska hosts Simon Fraser (Feb. 10) and Western Washington (Feb. 12) this week in their final two home games of the season.
