Alaska Stopped at Western Oregon, 87-70

Parrish West was held to a season-low 12 points over 18 minutes played in an 87-70 Alaska (8-14, 5-10 GNAC) loss at Western Oregon (13-12, 8-7 GNAC) Thursday night.

The Wolves may have tamed West, but the Nanooks got strong outings from Aaron Kohring and Cole Daniel. Kohring led the team with 20 points—his second 20-point game of the season. Daniel set a season high with 13 points.

Alaska had the game tied at 9:11 in the first half at 21-21, but the Wolves outscored them 31-10 heading into halftime to create a 52-31 lead for themselves.

West was limited to just six minutes in the second half, but Daniel turned up his game and scored 10 of his 13, including 3-for-4 from three-point range.

Jarrett Miller shot a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line on the night. He's sank his last 13 attempts and leads the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with a .957 percentage (44-for-46).

The Nanooks have three games remaining. They play at Saint Martin's Saturday before hosting Alaska Anchorage Feb. 22 and visiting the Seawolves Feb. 23.
