Alaska Loses to No. 25 Seattle Pacific, 93-39

The Alaska women's basketball team (1-17, 1-10 GNAC) played tightly with No. 25 Seattle Pacific (13-5, 7-3 GNAC) Saturday night, keeping the game within three points as late as 9:30 in the first half. That type of play disbanded as the Falcons ran away with the game and finished with a 93-39 win.

 

Nicole Bozek led Alaska in scoring with 13 points but fell below her scoring average in the loss. She was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line, but shot just 30 percent from the field (3-for-10).

 

Alaska shot just 26.5 percent from the field as a team—far below the 50 percent mark set by Seattle Pacific. They were also outgrabbed on rebounds 45-27.

 

The loss is the worst this season for the Nanooks—second only to a 90-45 loss at Montana State Billings. They have seven games remaining this season, including two more home games.

 

Alaska travels to Northwest Nazarene (Feb. 3) and Central Washington (Feb. 5) next week.
