No Alaska women's basketball player has scored 30 points in a game since the 2008-09 season, but
Nicole Bozek came within a field goal of doing it Saturday night.
Bozek finished with 28 points after shooting 8-for-15 from the field and a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line.
The Nanooks were down by double digits as early as 13:14 in the first half. Simon Fraser used a 15-2 run to earn their first 14-point lead by 11:11.
Worse, the Clan reached a pair of 18-point leads in the second half.
Jessica Harrison and
Autumn Greene reached double-digits on offense with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Greene was a rebound away from a double-double.
Greene's nine boards were key to the Nanooks outgrabbing the Clan on boards, 34-31.
Alaska 1-15 (1-8 GNAC) hosts Seattle Pacific Saturday at 5:15 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the men's team, who draw Northwest Nazarene at 7:30 p.m.
