Box Score [Box Score]

Neither team shot particularly well, but the Alaska women's basketball team's 34 percent field goal mark Saturday wasn't enough to take a win from Western Oregon. The Wolves went on to win 70-56 over the Nanooks.

Caitlyn Hamsley turned out one of her better offensive performances of the year with 12 points. The senior was 5-for-8 from the field and 2-for-3 from three-point range.

Autumn Greene gave the team chances to score with 13 defensive rebounds—a season high for her. She ended the game one point shy of her second double-double of the season.

After taking a 4-3 lead early in the first half, the Nanooks were never able to mount an attack. They never regained a lead and never got within 10 points of the Wolves after the first 10 minutes of the game.

Alaska did outscore the home team in the second half, 40-31. Hamsley put up 10 points after the intermission, and the Nanooks were able to steal the ball eight times and score 22 points off of turnovers.

Alaska (1-13, 1-6 GNAC) returns home to play Western Washington (Jan. 20) and Simon Fraser (Jan. 22).
