FAIRBANKS, AK - The Alaska Nanook Hockey Alumni Association is hosting a Skate with the Nanooks and alumnus Jordan Hendry, member of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, on Sunday, September 5 from 12:15-1:15 p.m. at the UAF Patty Center Ice Arena.
The 2010-11 Nanooks and Hendry will be in attendance to meet fans and Fairbanks community members of all ages and sign autographs. Photos of Hendry with the Stanley Cup will be sold for $25 (includes autograph) and family discounts will be made available for additional photos.
All proceeds from the fundraiser go to the program's Alumni Association, which directly supports the needs of the Alaska Nanooks Hockey program.
Alaska Hockey fans can get the first chance to meet the five of the newest Nanooks and the 22 returners from last year's team that made it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
The Blue and Gold will go toe-to-toe in their annual intrasquad scrimmage during Alumni Weekend on Saturday, September 25 at 5 p.m. at the Patty Center Ice Arena.
