Mariya Pavlovskaya broke a six-day old record in the 200 Yard IM (2:12.02) in event five of Alaska's meet with Simon Fraser Saturday, but it would be the team's lone first-place finish.
Pavlovskaya also finished second in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:00.66) and teamed with
Meghan O'Leary,
Courtney Nichols and
Kendra Day for a second-place finish in the 400 Yard Medley Relay (4:12.29).
Simon Fraser set a pool record in the same relay with a 4:06.15 finish. The Clan's Nicole Cossey also set a new pool mark in the 100 Yard Butterfly (58.35). She beat out Nichols, who took second at 1:01.97.
Nichols also took second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (1:10.64).
Day took second in the 50 Yard Freestyle sprint (26.34)—two seconds behind Cossey.
“Simon Fraser really pushed us to swim well today,” head coach
Scott Lemley said.
The Nanooks return to the pool Nov. 5 and 6 against Grand Canyon at the Patty Center.
