FAIRBANKS, AK - The Alaska Nanooks got goals from seven different players, two of which struck twice, as they earned a 9-0 shutout victory over the University of Windsor Lancers Thursday night at the Patty Ice Arena.

Nik Yaremchuk and
Cody Kunyk lit the lamp twice and tallied one assist apiece, while defenseman
Aaron Gens registered three helpers in the exhibition contest.
The Blue and Gold suffocated the visitors offensively, outshooting them 44-9 and going 4-for-7 on the power-play.
Junior goalie
Scott Greenham made four saves through 29:25 of action, while sophomore
Steve Thompson turned aside five Lancer shots in 29 minutes and 30 seconds between the pipes.
Alaska opens the regular season on the road next weekend in Anchorage at the Kendall Hockey Classic. The Nanooks open the tournament action on Friday, Oct. 8, when they faceoff against Air Force at 5:07 p.m. at the Sullivan Arena.
