KUTZTOWN, PA – The Alaska Nanooks took to the pool for their first competition since November 21 and fell to the Kutztown Golden Bears 120-79 on Monday night in Kutztown, PA.

Alaska got off to a fast start and took first place in the 200-yard medley relay as the group of Meghan O'Leary (Seward, AK), Mariya Pavlovskaya (Korolev City, Russia), Kelly Becker (Tualatin, OR) and Felina Rosadiuk (Fairbanks, AK) touched the wall in a time of 1:54.18 barely edging out Kutztown by a half of a second.

Alaska continued their strong swimming as Kinsey Lane took second place in the 1650-yard freestyle and Rosadiuk took home a victory in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.84.

However, Kutztown started to take over as they swept the 50-yard freestyle before taking first place finishes in both the 400-yard IM and 200-yard butterfly before Rosadiuk once again brought home victory in the 100-yard freestyle.

Kutztown went on to sweep the next two events before the Nanooks finished the day on a winning note in the final race, the 200-yard freestyle relay. O'Leary, Heidi Tilicki (Junction City, OR), Laine and Kendra Day (Fairbanks, AK) finished the race with a time of 1:48.83.
