Cold First Half Shooting Leads to Lopsided Defeat for Alaska

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Falcons of Seattle Pacific rode 55 percent shooting from the floor to earn a 96-66 victory over the Nanooks on Saturday night in the second game of a double header in Seattle.

SPU made 38 of their 69 field goals for the game, and dished out 26 assists as a team to only 16 turnovers. Guard Brandon Larriue led the Falcons with 19 points.

Alaska was stifled on offense all night as they committed 22 turnovers. Jon Moe led the team in scoring for the second consecutive game with 20 points, but the Nanooks shot just 25 percent in the first half an trailed at the break 45-22.

The halftime deficit was too large for an Alaska comeback as SPU handed the Nanooks their ninth conference loss of the season and dropped the Blue and Gold to 6-15 overall.

Alaska continues their final road trip of the season next Thursday night as they venture to Nampa, ID for a rematch with Northwest Nazarene. Alaska won the first game in Fairbanks by a score of 88-86.
