Billings, Mont. - The Nanooks came out on the wrong end of a double overtime thriller in Billings on Saturday night as the Blue and Gold fell to the Yellowjackets 118-112.
Jon Moe and Emmanuel Jenkins were at it again for Alaska and exploded from behind the three point line going a combined 16-31. Jenkins (12-28 FG) had a career high 37 points and 12 assists while Moe tied his career high with 34 points on 12-24 from the floor.
However, MSUB had an answer for Moe and Jenkins as Michael Hall had 36 points. Hall was also helped out by Travis Bunker with 27 and Derrick Wright with 21.
This is Alaska's second overtime loss of the season as they lost to Cal State Monterey Bay 90-86 on Nov. 18, 2008. Also, the 230 combined points is only 18 points off the highest scoring GNAC game in history which belongs to Cal State Monterey Bay and Western Oregon (126-122).
The Nanooks and the Yellowjackets combined to make 31 3's on the night. There was 83 free throws attempted, 55 of which were for MSUB. Alaska was 50 percent from the floor, and the yellowjackets were 48 percent.
Alaska, 4-9 (1-3 GNAC) travels to 12-4 Saint Martin's on Thursday night in Lacey WA. The Blue and Gold are still looking for their first road win of the year.
