2024-25 is Logan Indest's first season with the Nanooks swimming program. Indest joins the Nanooks after spending the past two years as the Assistant Men's and Women's Swim Coach at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. He will assist Head Swim Coach Ksenia Gromova in overseeing the Nanooks swim team.
"I am happy to welcome Logan into our Nanook family," said Gromova. "I think he will be an amazing addition to our team. Logan has demonstrated success in his coaching career and I am excited to see him help the team excel as well as grow and develop as a coach."
During his time at Allegheny as an assistant coach, Indest assisted in the writing, organizing, and conducting of practice sessions and overall season plan. He helped identify and recruit potential athletes by sending recruitment letters, meeting with recruits, conducting phone calls with recruits, and arranging visits to campus. Additional responsibilities included running the team's social media accounts, organizing fundraisers for the Allegheny swim team, and serving as Assistant Aquatics Director. Indest helped the Gators to a combined 26 top-10 performances, including 13 top-5 performances, seven individual championship performances, and seven record-breaking swims. While at Allegheny, the swim team received four CSCAA Scholar All-American Team Awards.
Indest has also worked at Dublin Jerome High School as an Assistant Boys and Girls Swim Coach. There, he assisted in organizing and planning swim meets, leading lifting sessions once a week during the season, and collaborating with athletes and coaches to set individual and team goals.
He also made a stop at the Buckeye Swim Club as a USA Swimming Assistant Coach.
Indest, a graduate of Allegheny College, was a member and captain of their swim and dive team before joining as a coach. He finished as an NCAC A Final Qualifier 2019 (400 IM) and a three-time NCAC Swimmer of the Week. Indest earned his B.A. in Political Science with Minors in Education Studies and Global Health Studies and graduated Cum Lauda in May 2021.
