Cedillo, Athletic Training, 2024-25

Arturo Cedillo

Arturo Cedillo is in his first season with the Nanooks in 2023-24.

"The Sports Performance team is looking forward to the addition of Arturo to our staff." said Head Athletic Trainer, Palmer Trolli, "Arturo brings in a true passion for athlete performance and overall well-being that we look to have here at UAF. Even in his early stages of his career, he brings in experience with most of our Nanook teams which is going to be crucial as he gets started here in Fairbanks."

Cedillo comes to Fairbanks after spending the previous two years at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. There he spent time as the men's and women's Assistant Swim Coach, a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant and the women's lacrosse Assistant Coach. He was with the swim teams from 2021-23; his duties included designing and implementing weight training programs, traveling with the teams and warming the teams up prior to competition. Alongside these, he demonstrated exercises, taught movements, corrected form and broke down the science behind exercises selected for sessions. From 2021-23, he also served as a S/C Graduate-Assistant, including being named the Head S/C for men's and women's swim. As the Strength and Conditioning Coach at the Division II institution, Cedillo was responsible for training the athletes from all sports and to provide direction during training sessions.

Finally, while at Adams State, Cedillo also served as the women's lacrosse Assistant Coach for the 2022 season. In that role, he was responsible for team drills, game scenarios and implemented his S/C skills. He has also served as a Personal Trainer in the past.

"I am very happy to be here at the University of Alaska Fairbanks." said Cedillo upon his arrival in Fairbanks, "I want to thank Dr. Anundson and the search committee for the opportunity to work with the athletics department. Go 'Nooks!"

Cedillo has received his CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, his CES through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is CPR/First Aid/AED certified through the American Heart Association. His first day with the Nanooks was on Oct. 10, 2023.
