    Second Season
After four years as a Nanook, Laine returns to Alaska for her first season as the Assistant Coach for the Women's Swimming team.

Originally from Silver Lake, WA, Laine swam for the Blue and Gold from 2007-2011, where she served as Co-Captain for the 2009-2010 season. Specializing in Distance Freestyle and Butterfly throughout her time with the Nanooks, Laine was competitive in whatever race she swam.  She remains a member of the 800 Freestyle Relay school record holding team, that was set back in 2009.

In addition to swimming, she also ran cross country for the Nanooks during her senior year, 2010-2011.

After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Economics in May of 2011, graduating with Cum Laude academic honors, Laine traveled to Glasgow, MT where she took the position of Assistant Coach for the Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team.  Returning to the Nanooks as a graduate from athlete to coach, Laine is excited for what this position will allow her do to continue to develop the program here at UAF.

When remarking on Laine's new role with the team Lemley stated that, "Kinsey has had a lot of success as an athlete, but what's more important than that is her passion for swimming.  She was incredibly passionate as an athlete and that's what will transfer over to her coaching.”
