Cross Country Running

2010: Also running for the Nanooks this season, Bender finished 20th in the 6K at the Alaska Nanooks Cross Country Invitational with a time of 27: 14.3; at the Western Washington University Cross Country Classic, Bender ran a season-best of 26:57.2 in the 6K, good for 99th place; she was selected for GNAC All-Academic Team Honors; recognized for Academic Honors by the Athletic Department.



Cross Country Skiing

2010-11: At the Nordic Cup Classic, Bender finished 21st in the 6K Freestyle with a time of 19:58.4 and ended up 14th in the Classic with a time of 20:00.2; recognized for Academic Honors by the Athletic Department.



Prior to Alaska: Competed in swimming and skiing for the Chugiak High School Mustangs; as a senior garnered several awards for skiing including Region IV champion, State Relay Champion and a Junior Olympics team member; skied for Alaska Nordic Racing during high school; maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her high school career.

Personal: Daughter of Mike Bender and Wendy Osen; currently majoring in Biology with a minor in Fisheries.
