Scott Nutter joins the Alaska Nanooks men’s and women’s cross country coaching staff as a graduate assistant, after an impressive collegiate running career at Wingate University.

A two-time NCAA Division II All-American and multi-time All-Southeast Region honoree, Nutter was a consistent top performer for the Bulldogs across his four years. In 2024, he ran a personal-best 10K time of 29:16.2 to place fifth at the Southeast Regional Championships and went on to finish 29th at the NCAA Championships. He also posted an 8K personal best of 23:32.0 at Virginia’s Panorama Farms Invitational.

Nutter’s 2022 campaign included his first All-American finish, placing 22nd at the NCAA Championships with a personal-best 10K of 30:16.1. In 2021, he earned All-South Atlantic Conference and All-Southeast Region honors, finishing third in the regional 10K and fifth in the conference 8K. Over his career, he tallied multiple top-10 finishes at major invitationals, including the Paul Short Run and Royals XC Challenge.

A native of Blencogo, United Kingdom, Nutter now turns his focus from competing to coaching, using his experience and competitive mindset to help develop the Nanooks’ distance program.
