Conrad Haber enters his second season as the head coach of the Alaska Nanooks men’s and women’s cross country programs. Haber officially joined the Nanooks coaching staff in August 2023 and spent his first two seasons as an assistant coach before taking over as head coach in 2025.
During his first two seasons with the Nanooks, Haber helped guide the program to four All-Americans, five individual NCAA Division II National Qualifiers and nine All-West Region individuals. The women’s program produced two GNAC Individual Champions and two NCAA Division II Western Region Individual Champions. In 2024, Alaska earned its first NCAA Division II Championships team berth since 2011 and finished 13th nationally.
In 2023, Kendall Kramer earned All-American and NCAA National Qualifier honors after winning both the GNAC individual championship and NCAA Division II West Region individual championship in a UAF-record 20:29 over 6K. Kramer, Rosie Fordham and Naomi Bailey earned All-West Region honors, while Fordham also earned All-American and national qualifier recognition.
The Nanooks continued their success in 2024, with Kramer and Fordham finishing second and eighth, respectively, at the NCAA Division II Championships to give Alaska two runners in the national top 10. Fordham captured the NCAA Division II West Region individual title in 19:52 over 6K, setting the fastest 6K in UAF history and the fastest 6K ever run at the NCAA Division II West Regional. Kramer, Fordham and Tabby Williams earned All-West Region honors, while Kramer repeated as GNAC individual champion.
In his first season as head coach in 2025, Haber guided Dexter Delaney to an NCAA Division II National Championship berth, marking the first men’s national qualifier for Alaska since the 1990s. Delaney posted a 29:45 10K, establishing a new Nanooks program record, while Delaney, Lucca Duke and Williams earned All-West Region honors.
Prior to joining Alaska, Haber spent eight years at Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia, Pa., where he served as head coach of the boys and girls cross country programs and track & field team. He led the boys cross country team to six consecutive league championships from 2016-22, with no 2020 season due to COVID-19, and three consecutive PAISAA Boys State Championships from 2016-18. He also guided the girls program to the 2022 league championship after four consecutive runner-up finishes. Haber coached 71 All-League recipients, 32 PAISAA All-State recipients, three PAISAA individual state champions and the 2021 NXR-Northeast Regional Girls Individual Champion.
In track & field, Haber coached 12 All-Americans, 42 school-record performances and a 2017 National Champion, along with numerous state and national qualifiers. He was named the 2017 PAISAA Boys Coach of the Year and received the Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Gold Coach Award in 2023.
Haber also coached with Runningworks Cross Country Camp in Canadensis, Pa., and previously served as an assistant boys and girls cross country/track & field coach at Washington Township High School in Sewell, N.J.
Haber earned his B.A. in American Studies/Writing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2002, graduating cum laude. He competed on UMBC’s NCAA Division I cross country and track & field teams and served as a four-time team captain. He later studied international law at Tulane University and the University of Amsterdam before earning his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law in 2011.
