Cecelia Ossi enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Alaska Nanooks rifle program in 2026-27, joining head coach Randi Loudin's staff after a decorated collegiate shooting career with the Nanooks and the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Ossi made an immediate impact during her time as a Nanook student-athlete, capturing the 2025 NCAA Individual Smallbore National Championship with a finals score of 464.7. She recorded personal bests of 599 in air rifle, 597 in smallbore and 1,196 in aggregate on Feb. 1, 2025, against Kentucky. Her aggregate score established a new Nanooks program record, while her smallbore mark tied the program record. She also helped Alaska capture the 2025 Patriot Rifle Conference championship and later won the USA Shooting National Championships in women's air rifle.
In her first season on the coaching staff in 2025-26, Ossi helped guide the Nanooks to a 10-6 overall record and a 5-4 mark in Patriot Rifle Conference head-to-head competition. Alaska placed fourth at the 2026 Patriot Rifle Conference Championships before finishing eighth at the NCAA Championships. Two Nanooks, Teagan Perkowski and Lucie Kissenberger, earned All-American honors.
Before joining Alaska, Ossi competed at Nebraska–Lincoln, where she was a four-time All-American, won the 2023 NCAA Individual Smallbore National Championship and served as team captain all four seasons. She also held the Cornhuskers' smallbore school record with a score of 597 and was named the program's Student-Athlete of the Year in 2023.
Originally from New Jersey, Ossi graduated from Nebraska–Lincoln in 2024 before joining the Nanooks as a graduate student for the 2024-25 season. She completed her Master of Business Administration at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and now draws on her championship experience to help develop Alaska's student-athletes and continue the program's tradition of excellence.
