Biography

Cross Country Running:

2011-12 as a freshman: Began his freshman season taking 14th place on both days in the UAF Invitational with a time of 28:03 in the 8K and a time of 13:42.9 in the 4K...In Hawaii, finished the four mile race in 21:56 to grab 11th place at the UHH Invitational...Finished the season running the 8K at the GNAC Championships with a time of 27:59.

Nordic Skiing:

2011-12 as a freshman: Started his season with the Nanooks strong finishing at the Nordic Cup sixth in the 5K Classic with a time of 14:20 and eighth in the 5K Freestyle with a time of 29:40...In January at the US Nationals, Ludwig grabbed 41st in the 1.6K sprints with a time of 3:17.46 and in the 30K finished 29th with a time of 1:31:48.4....At the CCSA Championships in February, he grabbed seventh in the 20K Classic finishing in 1:03:12.1...Was a part of the 3 by 5K relay team that finished 2nd at the CCSA Championships...Finished the season at the NCAA Central Regional Championships grabbing 17th place in the 10K with a time of 26:47.70 and sixth in the 15K with a time of 40:56.5...Earned second team CCSA All Conference Honors.

Prior to Alaska: Graduate of Otto Hahn Gymnasium Futwangen; 15-year member of the Wintersportverein Titisee; at the German Championships he finished 2nd in 2006 and 3rd in 2007; in his career he has earned two gold and two silver finishes at the German Cup and had four silver and three bronze medals at the German Skiing Championships.

Personal: Plans to major in Business Administration.
