Cross Country Running

2011: Began the season racing in the 4K finishing in 14th place with a time of 16:59.9 at the Alaska Nanooks Cross Country Invitational in September...At the GNAC Pre-Regional she finished 68th in the the 6K with a time of 23:33.44...Finished 12th in the 5K at the UHH Invitational in Hawaii on Oct. 8th...At the GNAC Championships she raced to a 34th place finish in the 6K with a time of 24:01...Was a member of the NCAA West Regional Championship team finishing 55th with a time of 23:12...Finished off the season at the NCAA Championships where she helped the Nanooks finish 17th overall with a 108th finish in the 6K with a time of 24:05.1...Named to the GNAC All-Academic Team...Garned USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors.

2010: At the Alaska Nanook Cross Country Invitational Benedix finished 7th in the 6K with a time of 24:22.2 and 9th in the 4K with a time of 16:17.5, helping the team place first both days; at the Chaminade Invitational she finished 8th with a time of 19:42.42 in the 5K; was the top-Nanook finisher in the 6K at the Western Washington University Cross Country Classic with a time of 24:09.4, her best time of the season and good for 44th place overall; was a member of the GNAC Championship Team finishing 41st in the 6K with a time of 24:24.36; earned GNAC All-Academic Team Honors; was a member of the NCAA West Regional Championship team finishing 68th in the 6K with a time of 24:55.7; received MVP honors at the conclusion of the season along with her fellow GNAC Team teammates; selected at Teammate of the Year by her teammates; recognized for Academic Honors by the Athletic Department.

2009: GNAC Academic All-Conference Team; finished 6th in the 6K with a 22:48.7 at the UAF West Ridge Invitational in August; finished 10th in the 3K with a time of 12:28.5 at the UAF Birch Hill Invitational; finished 8th with a time of 16:54 in the 4K at the CWU Apple Ridge Run Invitational.

2008: Finished 11th in the 4K with a 17:26.1 in the meet against Humboldt State; named Most Improved Runner; awarded the William Wood Scholar Athlete; named to Chancellor's List two times.

Prior to Alaska: Participated in varsity cross country and skiing at Lathrop HS; was a member of the 2007 Cross Country State Champions team; was a member of the 2006-07 Region 6 Regionals in Fairbanks.

Personal: Daughter of Rex and Cheryl Benedix; has one sister, Michelle; currently majoring in Biology.
