2010: Due to some NCAA eligibility complications, Bak had to compete his first races open-course, but he did start off his running career with his 26th place finish in the 8K of the Alaska Nanook Cross Country Invitational in September with a time of 30:49.3; once officially a member of the team, Bak traveled to Washington in October for the Western Washington University Cross Country Classic, where he finished his 10K with a time of 36:44.6; was a member of the NCAA Division II West Regional Championship team and finished first for the Nanooks, taking 85th place with a lifetime best of 35:37.1 in the 10K; recognized for Academic Honors by the Athletic Department; selected by his teammates as Teammate of the Year at the conclusion of the season.

Prior to Alaska: Played soccer for six years in Denmark.

Personal: Son of Jimmy Bak and Kirsten Hede; native of Denmark; currently majoring in Environmental Chemistry.
