FAIRBANKS - The Nanooks swimming team is set for two dual meets at fellow PCSC team Fresno Pacific this week, officially kicking off their 2025-26 season.

Last Time Out
The 'Nooks were back in the pool for the first time this season on Sept. 19-20 with their annual Blue/Gold intrasquad meet, where they competed in 17 events over two days of competition. Gold picked up the 157-152 win, tallying eight event victories. Dorka Dancsok led the way with three individual victories, winning the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.75), 200-yard butterfly (2:20.96) and 200-yard backstroke (2:16.53).

- Alaska has seven returners who will swim for them in the 2025-26 season. Dorka Dancsok, Eva Markovic, Janci Pangburn, Ali Pecore, Sariah Rodgers, Kaidence Sampsel and Charisma Watkins all return to the roster.
- The Nanooks have eight new swimmers for the upcoming season, as Macy Ahrens, Guielsie Borbon, McKenzie Fazio, Kitti Marton, Giorgia Merlo, MacKenzie O'Keefe, Mariia Sirotinskaia and Talia Wentz all join the squad.
- The Nanooks swimming team was honored prior to their Blue/Gold meet on Friday, Sept. 19, with an honorarium citation from the members of the Thirty-Fourth Alaska State Legislature. The honorarium recognized the Nanooks for their selection as a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Fall 2024 Scholar All-America Team.

Fresno Pacific Sunbirds
Head Coach: Raymond Eggert, 1st Season
- The Fresno Pacific women's swimming team is coming off of an eighth place finish at last year's PCSC Championships, tallying 374 points at the conference championship.
- They are led by first-year head coach Raymond Eggert, who swam for the Sunbirds from 2008-2011.
- The Nanooks won both their dual meets against the FPU Sunbirds last season, winning by scores of 145-59 and 147-57.Â
- The 'Nooks hold a 3-0 record against the Sunbirds since the 2013-14 season, also defeating the Sunbirds 155-119 in a quad meet in 2014.
Looking Ahead
The Nanooks are off for three weeks following their dual meets against FPU, with the squad returning to Fairbanks on Oct. 24-25 for dual meets against Puget Sound. They're back in the Patty Center Pool the following weekend for two more duals against Simon Fraser.
